THE ROAD TO ST95
The creation of ST-95 was shaped by everything Massimo Osti had learned in the years leading up to 1995. Drawing from his extensive experience with the workwear influences of C.P. Company, the garment-dyeing techniques that defined Stone Island, and the weatherproofing methods perfected for Left Hand, Osti infused his ST-95 designs with a rich, multifaceted heritage.
By the time of ST-95’s inception, Osti’s design portfolio was vast, positioning him perfectly to craft clothing that would cater to his most discerning customers yet.

STONE ISLAND
A sister brand to C.P. Company, Stone Island products were inspired by military uniforms, work-wear, and sportswear, and became known for Osti's innovative dyeing techniques. The first Stone Island collection was inspired by Tela Stella, a fabric made from a truck tarpaulin that was stone washed. The fabric was rugged, but Osti’s dyeing techniques transformed it into stylish outerwear.

LEFT HAND
By the time Osti founded Left Hand, he had the entire design world looking to him for advice and inspiration. Left Hand was launched in 1993 - and aptly named by Osti based on the fact that he himself was in fact Left-Handed.
Using a wealth of fabrics, one groundbreaking material formed by bonding cotton and PVC, provided protection against 80% of nuclear radiation. This innovative creation was aptly named “Thermojoint” and became the centerpiece of an entire collection. The imitations of Thermojoint that quickly flooded the market served as a testament to Massimo’s unwavering inventive prowess. He possessed a unique ability to elevate humble materials and reshape the preferences and desires of customers. -
1995
ST95
In 1993 Massimo Osti relinquished the 100% shares of C.P. Company & Stone Island to his business partner, Carlo Rivetti, allowing the formation of Left Hand Studio which became part of Massimo Osti Production and was aimed at a more discerning customer. ST95 was launched as a second line to Left Hand Studio focused directly to a younger consumer. ST95 was a collection in a limited amount of colours and fabrics, with the company donning the strapline “Jump and the Earth will rise to meet you”.
Today, we look to the future with ST95, or as some like to write it, ST Ninety Five. Still with the past and the forward-thinking youth in mind, the output will be defined by technical sportswear all about fabrics, colours, and fits, sold to a limited retail network in limited numbers. The legacy of Massimo Osti lives on in all the labels he has created and ST Ninety Five will be no exception.
